Troll is a monster found in the fifth Hero and Monster Collection set, Visions of Dawn. It was first found in the Second Edition Conversion Kit.

Description

A relative of ogres, trolls are brutish creatures possessing incredible strength and size. Unlike their cousins, however, trolls are extremely clumsy, having difficulty controlling their vast power. Even a single blow from a troll can be lethal, on the other hand, so wise adventurers are always cautious around them. The strongest trolls can take down several adventurers at a time, and often have elaborate tattoos on their arms.

Abilities

• Reach: This monster may attack targets up to 2 spaces away.
• Backswing: Use immediately after performing an attack to chose any number of figures affected by that attack. Each of those figures tests . If none of the figure pass, each chosen figure suffers 2 and is Stunned.
• Sweep: Perform an attack. This attack affects each figure within two spaces and line of sight of this monster. Each figure rolls defense dice separately.

• Trolls first appeared in the Altar of Despair expansion from Descent: Journeys in the Dark (first edition).
• In their Conversion Kit version, trolls had the Bash ability instead of Backswing.
• They have a lieutenant representative in the Trollfens expansion, Bol'Goreth.
