My son swears that this card stays in effect until the monster that he activated it against is defeated - meaning that baically the monster just stands there until it is defeated. Is this how this card works? It pretty much allows him to "one shot" a boss. He just spends a stamina point, activates the card, and automatically defeats the monster, or liutenant. If that is the case, do these attacks take place over multiple rounds?

The main point of contention revolves around "if the monster was not defeated, it may continue its activation." Are we talking about the card, or the monster's activation.
