Template:Monster

Sorcerer is a monster found in the third Hero and Monster Collection set, Crusade of the Forgotten. It was first found in the Second Edition Conversion Kit.

Description

These dark wizards have turned their backs on their fellow men and offered their powerful magic in service to evil masters. Some sorcerers have forged dark pacts with infernal powers in exchange for near immortality.

Every practitioner of the dark arts knows that there is a pit from which they cannot return, a threshold across which they cannot retreat. A sorcerer has embraced this fate, surrendering his humanity in exchange for ever-greater power and knowledge. No longer bound by the laws of man, a sorcerer can tap into magics far beyond the grasp of mere mortals.

Abilities

  • Sorcery X: After making an attack roll, this monster may convert up to X range to Heart, or up to X Heart to range.
  • Death Wish: When this master monster would be defeated, the overlord may choose 1 minion monster of the same group to be defeated instead. If he does, this master monster recovers all Heart.

Trivia

  • Sorcerers first appeared in the base game from Descent: Journeys in the Dark (first edition).
  • In the Conversion Kit, Sorcerers had the "Undying" ability, rather than Death Wish.
