Hellhound is a monster found in the sixth Hero and Monster Collection set, Bonds of the Wild. It was first found in the Second Edition Conversion Kit.

Description

These demonic beasts can breathe a cone of fire from their maws, immolating several heroes at once in the fiery blast. Some of these creatures are protected by a nimbus of hellish flames that burns all those who draw near.

Abilities

  • Hunt
  • Fire Breath: Starting with the target space, trace a path of 4 spaces in any direction. All figures on this path are affected by this attack. Each figure rolls defense dice separately.
  • Pierce X: This attack ignores X Shield rolled on the defense dice.

Trivia

  • Hellhounds first appeared in the base game from Descent: Journeys in the Dark (first edition).
  • They used to have the Aura X ability in their conversion Kit version, which allowed them to inflict 1 damage each time a hero entered a space adjacent to this monster. In Act 2, they also got their pierce reduced from 4 to 3 for the master, while the minions gained 1 more hit point in both acts.
